Summary: It was great having our morning coffee while watching the birds and other wildlife across the way. That may have been our favorite part. We also enjoyed relaxing by the pool, and hitting around a golf ball in the expansive back yard. The house stays cool, and although it was June, we were able to enjoy a fire in the fireplace in the comfy living room on a rainy afternoon. (Loved the oversized living room furniture!) The beds were very comfortable and the bathroom/shower was nice, with plenty of towels. The kitchen had everything we needed, just wished it had better seating. (There is a nice dining room, though.) This house could be difficult for someone with stability issues as the stairs are tricky and can’t be avoided, but we had a wonderful time and found it very relaxing. It was a unique experience in a beautiful, historically rich region that stirred our imaginations about times past.
