Come surround yourself in the natural wonder of the Texas Hill Country. The Blue House is nestled in the middle of a 260 acre ranch, surrounded by hills and great views. You will feel the peace of nature all around you, enjoy fantastic sunrises and sunsets, experience the unpolluted night sky, and abundant wildlife. There is a swimming hole on the ranch, located 1/2 mile from the house. Available to guests staying on the ranch. Open 8am-8pm closed if it rains. The house is a 3 bedroom 2 bath, one bedroom is upstairs. The master is separate from the main house and has its own private entry off the back porch. The home is not suitable for children under the age of 5, There is a spiral staircase to get to the loft/upstairs bedroom. We provide towels, hotel style soap and toilet paper. The kitchen is fully stocked with plates, pots; pans and utensils. There is a coffee pot in the kitchen along with coffee, sugar and creamer, coffee filters are not needed. There is a washer and dryer for you to use but soap is not provided. Hair-dryer is not provided, please bring one if you need. There are three dogs and three horses who live on the property and they roam freely.

You can shop the adorable shops in Utopia, Concan, Leakey and Bandera. Hike at Garner State Park and Lost Maple State Park. Check out wine tasting at Polvadeau Vineyards near Vanderpool and Lost Maples State Park. Play golf at the famous, Utopia Golf Club, relax on your expansive back deck.
Utopia has two cafe’s, pizza from the convenience store, tacos from Rosie’s trailer. We also have a local coffee shop that offers lunch and brews so stop in at Postal Brews, they offer Live music on Friday night. Enjoy a gourmet, outside dining experience Fridays, Saturdays & Sundays at Mac & Ernie’s located in Tarpley. In need of some BBQ check out big Ern’s open Saturdays in Utopia. There are numerous dining opportunities in Leakey and Bandera. Utopia has a great grocery store that provides all the essentials you will need to prepare a meal in your gourmet kitchen.

Summary: We booked this trip to celebrate the end of a busy time at work. We just wanted to get away from busyness of life and it was perfect for that. It was quite, calm, the small towns nearby were full of friendly people and laid back. Exactly what we needed and wanted. The property had all the amenities we wanted and was super comfortable. Wonderful experience.
