Welcome to your Hawaiian coastal retreat. Built in 1990, this 3 bedroom 2.5 bathroom 2,165 sqft home was completely remodeled in 2007 to showcase pieces by local wood artists and art that highlights my home country of South Africa, including a spacious thatched hut out back equipped with a large braai (bbq) and supplies to entertain friends and family.
The house has a well appointed and fully stocked kitchen and bar area where you can enjoy preparing the abundant local produce in delicious home cooked meals. There is an expansive open deck overlooking the stunning views of Mauna Kea, Mauna Loa, and Hualalai, where you can enjoy the hot tub or make a fire on a clear Waimea night.
On cloudy and drizzly Waimea days, the home remains cozy and warm, and on bright, sunny days, there are ample windows and doors that circulate the breeze. This home feels like a tucked away sanctuary in the clouds.
In a quiet neighborhood cul-de-sac just two miles from central Waimea, a Paniolo town known for cattle ranches, abundant farmers markets, and a variety of culinary delights, The home is tucked away at the top of a hill and with ample privacy and quiet. Just a 20 minute drive and you'll find yourself at some of the best beaches on the island.
