We are Keone and Yonnell Farias. We were both born and raised here on this wonderful island. We welcome you to our beautiful new home and would be happy to share with you our favorite places. Located in a quiet neighborhood of Waiakea Uka, we are a short 10-minute ride from the airport, 35 minutes to the Volcano, and just a few minutes from local grocery stores and eateries!
Waiākea Uka is translated as "the mountainside" of Waiākea. There are beautiful views of both Mauna Kea and Mauna Loa mountain. The University of Hawaii at Hilo is located in the Waiākea district as well. There are parks and convenience stores within walking distance to the house but a car would be more suitable.

Summary: Ulu Wai served as a beautiful and excellent location for our 2-day stay to cheer our on niece/grand-daughter playing in the Hawaii Island Labor Day Classic volleyball tournament. The rental is very clean and thoughtfully well stocked with all the provisions we needed and more. It was spacious for our family of 6 adults, and we spent quality time together in between games. The owners were very communicative and thoughtful as they surprised and delighted us with a treat bag and a welcome note. We would love to return for a visit during the Merrie Monarch Festival and absolutely would recommend this lovely rental for anyone looking for a convenient, spacious and beautiful space to enjoy Hilo.
